STATE OF OHIO vs. W.W. WHITE: Testimony in the Police Court of the City of Dayton

Dayton, OH: 1896. Leather. Typescript of testimony given in the Police Court of Dayton, Ohio, in the case of the State of Ohio v. W.W. White, which was tried in January-February 1896. The judge deciding the case was Charles W. Dale. White, the president of the White Paper Company, was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses when his company went bankrupt. The outcome of the case is unknown, but the end of the typescript reveals that Judge Dale found probable cause, set White's bail at $1,500, and held him over to the grand jury.

This typescript is bound in 1/4 leather with black cloth boards. The backstrip is chipped and the hinges are weak, although the block of pages is itself tightly bound and complete. Some margin notes in pencil, but most text unmarked. Good reading condition. Item #324206
