How We Buy Books
At Kubik Fine Books Ltd, we know that selling a book collection can be a difficult and emotional process. We respect this and make the process as easy as possible.
If you have material to sell, please contact us by phone (937-294-0253) or by filling out the email form below. Kubik Fine Books is primarily interested in buying large collections, libraries, and estates of quality books. We are not interested in purchasing individual books.
We will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your books.
Our normal procedure is to come and view the books in person. We will make an offer for the collection based on our estimate of what the books are worth and how quickly we can sell them. Some books are valuable but may take several years to sell, while other items may have a ready purchaser waiting. While we are based in Dayton, Ohio, we have purchased collections all over the United States, Canada, and Europe and will gladly travel to acquire quality material.
Kubik Fine Books Ltd was established in 1985. Purchasing is handled by our firm's owner, Owen D. Kubik. Kubik has been involved with the book trade for over 30 years and is well-versed in rare and out-of-print books of all types. He is a member of the ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America) and is pledged to the highest standards of professional conduct in the book trade.
Unless negotiated otherwise, payment is immediate and we begin removing the material once an agreement is reached. We will package the items and arrange for transport on our own...you don't have to do a thing!
We consider any invitation to come and possibly purchase your books to be just that...an invitation. You are inviting us into your home or office and we will treat you with respect and courtesy. We promise to make an honest, fair offer for your material. And if you chose not to sell to us, we'll be disappointed but we will never attempt to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.
