A hardcover book in a handsome Victorian prize binding of full red leather with gilt decorations on the spine and edges. Edges and endpapers are marbled. The emblem of Halstead Grammar School is stamped in gilt on the front cover. Prize bookplate inside front cover, dated Christmas 1900. Near-fine condition, with corners lightly shelf-worn and mild abrasion to the spine, which is also a bit sunfaded. Otherwise clean and tight. Comes in a red cloth slipcase. Item #324160
