Top edges and corners of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and NORTHANGER ABBEY are mildly bumped here and there due to years of normal handling. Small air bubbles under the cloth of the front covers of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, vol. 1, MANSFIELD PARK, vol. 1, and LETTERS, vol. 2. A few tiny, faint indentations in front cover of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, vol. 2. Light, diagonal scratch on front cover of EMMA, vol. 2. Faint soiling on several volumes' covers. Otherwise, all volumes are unmarked inside and tightly bound. Very good condition, almost near-fine, and quite handsome-looking on a bookshelf. A nice set for the Austen collector! Item #322860

Each novel is illustrated with three color plates by C.E. Brock or, in some cases, H.M. Brock. The volumes of Austen's letters contain plates as well, but the majority are black and white portraits; one is a facsimile letter. Introduction to this edition by William Lyon Phelps.
