AUTOGRAPHED FOOTBALL PROGRAM FOR UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON FLYERS vs. UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON ROYALS (September 27, 1947)

Dayton, OH: University of Dayton, 1947. 1st Edition. Paperback. Original staplebound program for a football game between the UD Flyers and Scranton Royals, which was the opening game of the Flyers' 1947 season. The Flyers won 28-6. Joe Gavin was head coach, and the team captain was Dick Dahn.

This copy of the program is signed by numerous players, including Dahn (most in pencil, but a few in pen), beside their respective photographs.

Contains plenty of advertisements for old Dayton businesses, making this item a nostalgic snapshot of life in the Gem City during the postwar boom, as well as a fine collectible for the diehard Flyer fan.

Condition is NEAR-FINE. Apart from a small crease in the front cover, the program appears barely handled. The only markings inside are the players' autographs. Loose pages in the middle are NOT falling out, but were originally added as loose inserts. Item #320327
