Outer edge of pages 40-60 are dampstained, and pages 77-80 have half-inch closed tears in the same area. Longer closed tear in plate at page 16 and on edge of page 45. Hinges a bit shaken, but binding is still tight enough for ordinary handling. Good condition overall. Item #318062

The story of the Boer War told in numerous black and white photographs and full-page color plates. Features a photograph of Winston Churchill as a lieutenant; he was a POW in Pretoria for a time and later served in the South African Light Horse Regiment. Measures approx. 17.5" long x 11.5" tall. The color plates are primarily drawings of various battle scenes.
