A set of two hardcover books bound in full polished calf with gilt-decorated spines. gilt dentelles, gilt top edges, and marbled endpapers. Very good condition! A fewight scuff marks on the spines, slightly marring the gilt decorations but not severely disrupting their overall overall beauty. Edges lightly rubbed and tiny age spots on the boards. On volume II, cracks are just starting to form where the front cover attaches to the spine, but the board is still securely enough attached for normal handling. A previous owner's bookplate is inside both volumes' back covers. In volume II, the bottom corners are chipped off pages 229-232, not affecting the text. Otherwise, text unmarked and binding secure in both volumes. Item #176967
