ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT PAGE FROM A MEDIEVAL BREVIARY

A cardboard-mounted, shrinkwrapped display of an original, hand-lettered page taken from a medieval Book of Hours. There is writing on both sides; the display allows both the front and back to be seen. Gothic script in black ink some letters illuminated in gold, and some in red and blue. The leaf itself is clean and unmarred, with the ink and embellishments still quite vivid. Fine condition - a stunning artifact from the Middle Ages! Item #175662

Produced around the 15th or 16th century. The entire display measures approx. 12.25" x 11.6", and the window exposing the leaf is about 4.25" x 3.5"
