First edition of an important work on the War of 1812. William Hull (1753-1825) was a Revolutionary War veteran and a general in the War of 1812. He was court-martialed and sentenced to death for his surrender of Fort Detroit to the British, but eventually pardoned by President James Madison. Howes H-780.
