The first and last few leaves are also tanned and foxed. Otherwise clean and tight. The jacket is tanned and lightly edgeworn; the fold between the spine and back panel is starting to split at the bottom, currently torn about 2". Otherwise intact. Item #167557
The British first edition with the dustjacket of the American publisher, Vanguard. This probably means copies of the British edition were shipped to America where they were sold with a different jacket. Shiel was a fantasy author and member of the English decadent school of literature. See Bleiler, page 179.
