Includes several b/w photographs and illustrations. A collection of letters from a son to his father. At the time they were written, exploration of New Guinea was forbidden. The island was too dangerous. However, Ben Boyce was given permission to do so on the agreement that he would write a letter once a week during his expedition. These letters would be publilshed in a newspaper called the Chicago Saturday Blade.
