A native of Abbadia di Osimo, Marche, Italy, Padre Benvenuto Bambozzi OFM. Conv., joined the Franciscan Minor Conventual Fathers in 1822, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1834. Humble and austere, entirely dedicated to contemplation and evangelization, educator for many of the novices of the Franciscan convent of Osimo, a true apostle of the confessional, a friend of the poor and the sick, Padre Bambozzi died in Osimo in 1875. His venerated remains are found buried inside the Basilica di San Giuseppe da Copertino in Osimo, Ancona. The cause for his beatification is in process.
