Biography of prominent English Catholic Cardinal Wiseman, who did much to revive Catholicism in the UK and was instrumental in bridging the gap between the Oxford Movement and the Catholic Church. Notable figure in the early years of Pius IX's pontificate, when there were hopes that Pius IX would reach new agreements with the British hierarchy. Wiseman was the precursor to Cardinal Manning.
