The hardcover edition is uncommon. A popular account of the "Lost Battalion" of World War One. This was a group of 500+ American soldiers who advanced ahead of their fellow soldiers during the Battle of the Argonne, resulting in them being trapped behind German lines for six days before approx. 200 men managed to break out to the American lines. Seven of the men received the Medal of Honor for their actions.
