Lots of rub marks all over the covers and spine. The edges of the spine are starting to wear and split apart, mostly at the top, but the covers remain securely attached. Cracks forming in the middle of the spine, one vertical and one horizontal, but the binding remains tight inside. Corners also show visible wear. Cover and spine text starting to rub off. Tanning on edges of endpapers, and all pages a bit age-toned. Otherwise, text unmarked. Item #187952
RARE limited edition signed by Calvert on a special page in front (number of copies unspecified). Illustrated with lots of black and white plates demonstrating weightlifting exercises. Alan Calvert (1875-1944) was an American weightlifter, publisher, and businessman who founded STRENGTH magazine and the Milo Bar-bell Company, which was eventually purchased by Bob Hoffman and renamed York Barbell.
