A set of two large hardcover books handsomely bound in full contemporary black leather with ornate gilt decorations on the boards and spines. All foredges gilt-trimmed. Corners barely bumped and rubbed, and some scratch marks on the rear covers. The spines are worn along the gutters, and the spine ends are a bit worn down. Faint chafing to the gilt foredges. Small bookplate inside both volumes' front covers. The plates have faded a bit onto the facing pages of text. Light foxing throughout, most heavily on the plates. Otherwise, text unmarked. Bindings are secure but need to be handled gently. Item #176908
