New York: Ensign & Thayer, 1850. Leather. 70p plus foldout map. A small hardcover book bound in full brown leather with gilt decorations on the front. Good condition overall. Small tear in the spine, about 1.5" from the bottom. Boards lightly chafed all over, but gilt detailing still bright and vivid. Dampstaining on bottom and side margins of all pages, and heavy foxing throughout. Early owner's ink and pencil markings on front free endpaper. Very faint cigarette smell inside, almost undetectable. The binding is secure enough for normal handling. The foldout map is in one piece, but there are lots of split edges and many corners have ben reinforced with tape. Foxing all over and some faint pencil marks on the back. Item #176731
