Boston: William White, 1853. 1st Edition. Hardcover. 5 vols. A complete set of six hardcover books in FAIR condition. Edges and corners rubbed through, and spines badly worn; each is covered in clear tape except on volume I, which is reinforced with black cloth. In volume I, pages 217-224 and 425-432 are coming loose. Crease at top of pages 86-89 in volume I where a paper clip was affixed. Last several leaves coming loose in volume IV, part I. Dent on the side of volume V's back cover. Pages browned with age and foxed. Binding is cockeyed; holds well enough for use but ought to be handled with care. Text itself is unmarked. Worn but readable copies in need of repair. Item #175901
