A set of two black cloth hardcover books, one with text and plates and one with folding maps. Acceptable condition overall. Edge of cloth splitting where the spine and back cover are joined. Other edges also wearing through. Cloth spotted with stains and Corners of text block conspicuously dampstained. Owner's pencil note inside front cover. Foxing throughout; binding secure for normal handling. The map volume is also dampstained, leaving the cloth wrinkled and discolored. Item #174475

Includes sepearte map portfolio with three large folding maps: MAP OF THE COUNTRY BETWEEN THE FRONTIERS OF ARKANSAS AND NEW MEXICO; MAP OF THE COUNTRY UPON THE UPPER RED RIVER; and a large untitled map depicting the entire region including Missouri, northern Texas, Arknsas, western New Mexico, etc. The first two maps were pasted onto the inside covers of the portfolio; the one on the country between Arkansas and New Mexico is complete but torn away from the sectioon which was pasted down.
