Shaw was one of 50 men of the Mount Washington Mining Company, which suffered many hardships and Native American attacks on their way from Independence, Missouri, to the Platte during the California Gold Rush. This book is one of 200 specially printed copies for subscribers of the ENTERPRISE, a country newspaper in Farmland, Indiana.
