Massive history of the Franciscan Order, stretching from 1208 to 1680. Begun by Luke Wadding and continued by other Franciscans. Wadding (1588-1657) was an Irish Franciscan priest and historian. Prominent at Rome, he founded the Irish Pontifical College and worked to advance Irish causes in the Vatican. The Annales is his best known work and was completed by others after his death.
