A fictionalized autobiography of the poet's life among the Modoc Indians. The text was originally published in 1890 by the same publisher under the title MY OWN STORY - it presumably was re-issued under the new title to generate more sales.The book istelf is a re-written and reputedely more accurate version of the same events covered in the author's LIFE AMONGST THE MODOCS. Regardless of its accuracy, this is an extremely scarce imprint of 19th century Western literature.
