Gorman was best known as the biographer of James Joyce ; more recently, his fantasy novel The Place Called Dagon was rediscovered and critics believe Gorman was an influence on the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The poem published here has some bizarre elements. More noteworthy as fantasy is the art by Mary Small which has definite fantasy elements and shows the influence of Frank Pape.
